If you lived or worked at the Camp Lejeune military base from 1953-1987 and developed one or more of the health issues below, you may be eligible to file a claim. Veterans, their families, military personnel, and/or contracted civilian workers who lived or worked at Camp Lejeune for at least 30 days between August 1, 1953, and December 31, 1987, may be eligible to receive compensation to help with medical costs and other pain and suffering caused by drinking the toxic water at Camp Lejeune.

• Trichloroethylene (TCE)
• Perchloroethylene (PCE)
• Benzene
• Vinyl chloride
• Other toxic compounds

The Camp Lejeune Justice Act, passed by the Senate on June 16, 2022, allows those who lived or worked at Camp Lejeune between August 1, 1953 – December 31, 1987, a path to recover compensation for their pain and suffering that occurred as a result of drinking toxic water on base.

Until now, a North Carolina statute prevented veterans, their families, military personnel, and contracted civilian workers from filing a claim if they suffered from cancer or other illnesses linked to drinking the toxic water at Camp Lejeune because of the time that has passed since their exposure.
